Unlikely Tools for Flying

For the abstract digital artist to do art with such an unlikely tool as the computer is sort of like one or two things.

On one hand it is like trying to fly an iron kite: knowing it is possible to do, but only if you run real fast and have a lot of wind, or inspiration on your side.

On the other hand, becoming proficient enough with the software to use it as a paint brush or means of expression is like trying to fly this kite in a scrap yard: knowing it too can be done, but first you have to carefully map out the direction you want to run, and with technique, clear out a path to get to where you want the picture to go; or to be.

The joy then is upon the occurrence of either, and especially the first, if you hold onto the line; you can fly up and away… along with the kite.

Something ‘til Now is a series of pictures that was done near and before the 2K millennium. The base design resembles a hand on a clock-face positioned at ‘bout 22’ til the hour. Hence, another name for the series is 22 ‘til.
